Training Needs Analysis
TNA or Training Needs Analysis is the most crucial step or phase in the process of designing an elearning course for your learners. eLearning courses designed with no attention to Training Needs Analysis prove a damp squib. Such courses do not fail to produce the desired results on the learners. Training Needs Analysis includes all important decisions related to the end-learners, their learning needs, the skill-gap, the mode of training delivery, the duration of the training, the level of interactivity, the level of engagement, the structure of the proposed course, time and budget available for the course development and many other decisions.
The learning needs of every group of learners are different, and not only learning needs, but many aspects differ for each set of learners. The factors like the learner’s age, their psychology, their socio-cultural environment, their motivations, the subject matter (that needs to be delivered), the level of difficulty, the expected outcomes or results (from the learners) differ for each group of learners. The course designers have to think over all these aspects before creating their course structure or eLearning design plan.
Managers or program owners often ignore the seriousness of this phase and design their course delivery based on their own assumptions and this can lead to the loss of time and budget with undesirable or unimpressive results.
Each set of learners have their unique learning needs that Learning and Development team needs to identify before deploying training for the learners. Identifying skill-gaps, understanding learner’s psychology, pinpointing real learning needs, applying the best suited learning design methodology etc. are of prime importance before creating any learning experience.
We at CDR make use of time-tested, scientific and customized method of conducting TNA for your end-learners so that you succeed in achieving your training objectives.
